I keep thinking I’ve finished the drawings I’ll need to tell sister Sam’s story – then an idea will come to me. Like this one. Sibling loss is both a diminishing of one’s history and a loss of part of one’s future. For me, it comes it’s the sensation of being gently touched from behind – as if she’s ever so lightly leaning against my spine.
Draft drawing #2 diffuse axonal injury. I like this version without the border of the medical text drawing. It seems slightly more fluid, but still retains some of the clinical quality of the textbook drawing – interrupted by the red splatter. This is the version I’m leaning toward for Limbo.
